The latest from Fabrizio Romano

West Ham‘s preparations for the winter transfer window are underway with Thilo Kehrer;s departure to Monaco now finalised according to the latest from Fabrizio Romano.

According to the ITK the German defender is well and truly on his way to the French club on – as Claret and Hugh broke initially – a loan deal which is virtually certain to be made permanent in the summer.

The ITK reports the clubs exchanged documents overnight and that Kehrer will travel for medical later today. The loan carries a fee of €500k fee with buy clause to become mandatory for €11m. All details are now approved by West Ham.

Meanwhile Roma and AC Milan have also made enquiries but financially not possible as West Ham will NOT accept loan proposals.

We are now awaiting offers for the likes of Said Benrahma and Ben Johnson as we prepare to look at home grown players to fill their places.

Currently, the Hammers have only James Ward-Prowse and Jarrod Bowen in the first team who fall into that category.

The recruitment team will be looking at central defence and left back although if a striker is available they will also move in  in that direction too but not as a matter of priority given the development of Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen link-up.
