The most pointless WHUFC debate of the week

|

David-Sullivan-and-David--001Over-reaction and football are words that fit together very well indeed.

Barely a day passes without some minor piece of nonsense dominating the headlines! Think Wayne Rooney getting rat ended and Jose Mourinho blaming the Football Association for not looking after him!

Well, we won’t even consider personal responsibilty from an England skipper then and how he should behave at the age of 31 then eh?

In West Ham terms we have heard some bloke in Qatar – whom most of us had never realised existed – claim that the country may buy a Premier League club at some point and the good old Daily Mail immediatey links West Ham as the most likely club available.

All a little thin to say the least but hey don’t let that get in the way of a Twitter stream of speculation complete with the usual foul language as the social networking system goes into meltdown for about the 100th time in 24 hours.

Here’s the point: The original statement from the Qatar bloke was an observation and the Mail’s West Ham connection was a guess.

There is no interest from anywhere even for a share of the club despite the Sullivan/Gold ownership alliance looking for investors since they took over.

A takeover bid is even more remote if that’s possible and thus all this chat is as meaningless as it gets.

For the record Sullivan and Gold – as DS told ClaretandHugh yesterday –  have no intention of selling but will be happy for investment.

They are leaving the club to the kids with Jack Sullivan for example currently on work experience in all areas of WHUFC.

For those who wish it was different may we simpmply quote the new John Lewis and and the title of the Rolling Stones song: “You can’t always get what you want.”

Qatar – West Ham? …the most pointless discussion of the week.
