Dimi Payet’s devastating injury has left some unanswered questions in its wake.
The James McCarthy ‘assault’ on our top player happened in the 33rd minute and it was seven minutes later or so that his inability to hold onto the ball which led to Lukaku for Everton’s equaliser. The two events are not unconnected.
We have learned since of course that he has a terrible injury yet he continued to play on until half time and even appeared after the break before finally disappearing for treatment.
He appeared to be in little pain as he walked off unaided and those closer to the action claim he watched the rest of the game from the dug-out.
Much later, he appeared in a surgical boot and the news was that it’s a three month lay off with surgery required to sort out the issue.
The mystery of why he was allowed to play on to beyond half time is bizarre and we trust at some stage we will be told why that happened.
Yes they were pretty shambolic the hippo mob !!!! The way they handled carol and colli!
Pathetic comes to mind !!!
Can’t see how you would not back sully on the assault !!! Club a laughing stock ??
For what , telling how it was ,!!!!
Funny really I laughed at that reference because it ain’t a derogatory as you seem to believe?
I don’t for the life of me understand that comment !!!
If the player was asked how he felt & replied that he felt ok, how can the medical staff be at fault?? I would imagine that with all players who come off with an injury get sent for a scan the following day. The scan results showed the damage end of. What have the medical staff done wrong here?? **** happens & we all knew that Payet would be targeted & pick up an injury at some time this season. No point moaning about it everyday as it wont change the outcome.
Yes, it’s odd, you’d think the player himself would realise whether or not he’s really hurt or not – maybe he was being too brave, whatever, let’s hope he’s not as bad as has been reported.
I’m not keen on the co-chairmans adolescent son being the source of player information, particularly when it’s potentially bad information – it makes the Club look a bit of a laughing stock!
After reading Jack Collison’s article the other day about how he was mis-treated by the West Ham medical staff, it was shocking and a real shame for the player – I know there’s been a turnover in the Medical stafff – let’s hope the situation has been sorted out properly!
Why he was not subbed!!!
Easy question really, the player himself wanted to play on and see if he could run it off !!!!
The player tell the medical staff how he feels or if he is in pain !!!!
To point a finger at Bilic and his staff is out of order !!!!
And as for sully talking out of turn shows the sort of brain and visually impaired some people are ? You are joking ? Aren’t you !!!!?
Maybe a bit to merry comes to mind ( cheers ) unbelievable!!!
I think you missed the word ASSAULT !!!!
From the OS mate:- “The France international had a scan on Sunday and after a consultation with a specialist on Monday, it is likely that he will be ruled out of action for three months.”
I hope that’s wrong, but it doesn’t sound good. Can’t for the life of me understand why he wasn’t subbed earlier.
I think the Co-Chairman’s son has spoken out of turn, and we may yet learn that Payet is not as bad as we all now fear.
Otherwise, we need to have wholesale changes to the medical staff.
