The Posh/Irons connection

NoelPeterborough United entertain the Irons at 3pm and there are a number of connections between both clubs.

Posh assistant manager Grant McCann began his playing career at the Boleyn Ground and went on to make four appearances for the Iron before a number of loan spells.

Summer signing Jack Collison made his name with the Hammers, making over 100 appearances during his stay with the club.

Noel Cantwell made over 250 appearances during his playing career for the Hammers before going on to manage Posh in two spells between 1972 and 1977 and 1980 and 1982.

In recent history, there have been a number of high profile signings for Posh with Hammers experience including Jimmy Bullard, Adam Newton, Tom Williams and Danny Kearns.

Teenage striker Jaanai Gordon joined the Hammers from Posh for an undisclosed fee in 2013, while Matthew Etherington joined the Hammers from Tottenham Hotspur after coming through the youth ranks at the ABAX Stadium.
