The Premier League season should end today

Today should have been the last day of the Premier League season!

West Ham supporters should have been making their way to the London Stadium to play Aston Villa this afternoon hopefully already having secured their Premier League survival.

It is now 71 days since West Ham players kick a ball after our defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

We saw the return of football in Germany yesterday but something was missing and watching football in empty stadia seemed strange.

Club owners will meet again on Monday but unlikely to take their final vote again with the decision going down to the wire against a UEFA deadline of 25th May.

The likely restart of the Premier League is reported to be 19th June if at all and a finish scheduled for 2nd August 2020.

That means we have another 77 days until the season can be completed and we will know the final league positions.

  1. For me the season ended on 13th march 2020.Whatever comes next is a revolting by product driven by greed and personal gains.
