The reason why football season goes on revealed

|

The Government has given its go ahead for football and elite sport to continue on the basis that the protocols in place are as  secure as they can possibly be.

Many will be surprised, and non sports fans will probably take a pop at the decision, that when the rest of us are locked down it’s unfair to let sport continue.

But the government believes that the ‘bubbles’ in which the players operate are entirely strict and that there is less risk involved than across the remainder of the nation.

It also appears – and this may be more controversial – that players will be allowed to transfer  from various countries on transfer moves.

As a result of all this it appears that the new season will be completed after fears that we would once again face shutdown which from a purely self interested point of view will please many.

The disappearance of sport from our TV screens – as was the case during the first lockdown – would have been a big blow as for many although the reservations of some are easy to understand.
