There have been few more gladdening sights in the last few weeks than seeng Crysencio Summerville scare opposition defences half to death and hit form with four goals and an assist so far in 2026. The young ex-Leeds winger has had a torrid time with injuries missing large chunks of last season and has had a lengthy rehabilitation to endure.

And of course having the end product to his game as well as the eye-catching electric pace has not gone un-noticed. Two offers were rejected by West Ham according to givemesport.com who suggest whilst in the short term the Hammers have kept their star there could well be trouble brewing:

‘West Ham rejected two proposals for Crysencio Summerville during the January transfer window, and although he was happy to stay for the second half of the season, Fabrizio Romano claims that it will be different in the summer”

Very true. If the Hammers do find themselves relegated, Summerville – along with Jarrod Bowen – will see suitors lining up.

His former club Leeds United could also be in for a windfall thanks to his electric form in 2026: Dutch journalists claim a call-up to the Netherlands national side is likely in March – which will trigger the add-ons clauses in his West Ham – Leeds contract, with some suggestions that Sullivan might have to fork out £4 million to his former club who just happen to one West Ham’s relegation rivals.

Better to have to fork out a chunk of cash now and hope that ‘Cry’ can spearhead the revival that keeps the Irons in the Premier League, and likely as a consequence keeps the player himself at West Ham after the end of the season.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

History tells us that even when a club narrowly avoids relegation, they rarely hold on to their star players the next season
