While the Green street crush and Manchester United coach incident was going on outside the Boleyn ground on Tuesday evening another sorry tale was going on in the ground. A small minority of so-called West Ham fans were filling plastic bags with farewell Boleyn t-shirts which had been put out on everyone’s seats as a free gift for all those attending the last game ever.
When I arrived around seven in Sir Trevor Brooking lower stand, I managed to retrieve my free tee shirt but saw many other T-shirts were already missing around me. A chief steward told me that he witnessed fans with plastic bags snatching as many tee shirts as they could steal when the gates first opened but there was little he or his colleagues could do about it.
Several disappointed fans who missed out of their T-shirts have connected Claret and Hugh to ask how to complain to the club or get replacements after they found their seats empty with the historic reminder of the special night.
West Ham Super fan Jonjo Heuerman highlighted one unscrupulous fan selling multiple tee-shirts on Ebay for £45 each, that so-called fan has since withdrawn them from sale after pressure from Jonjo followers on twitter.
Fucking lowlifes ….should be ashamed of themselves
People have to spend time walking all around the stadium placing these on seats. Wouldn’t it be easier and better to actually hand them to people as they entered the stadium?
That wouldn’t have been practical as they were put out in sections so as to make a pattern around the stadium.
The Club should be able to connect the sellers on Ebay etc to the names of the people who should have had them and do something about them.
You are correct! well spotted. I’ll have to change my id to Senile Old Git
