Rumours have resurfaced in recent days that Manuel Lanzini is Liverpool bound for £50m this summer, some recent social media rumours even suggested he had packed his West Ham bags, said his goodbyes and would be joining the Merseyside team this week.
Club insiders have dismissed these stories as recycled wild media speculation and say no formal approach has been made for the Argentine player. Daughter of David Gold, Jacqueline also recently commented on social media to dismiss the rumours as false.
Lanzini still has two years left on his current £35,000-a-week Hammers deal and the club have the option to extend his terms by a further year.
Liverpool have been consistently linked in the media with the Argentine playmaker but have never made a move.
West Ham is in no immediate hurry to renegotiate a new contract with Lanzini but it will be on the list of things to discuss with the new incoming manager. Meanwhile, Lanzini will focus on the World Cup as he was chosen to join the Argentinan squad.
