Some of West Ham’s most vociferous critics these last few weeks have been the media pundits, along of course with a slice of their own fan base which seems as polarised as ever between ‘Lope-in’ and ‘Lope-out’: However, there appears unanimity on one issue. West Ham need a win. Yes of course three points will feel much better at 5 pm tomorrow: We have two weeks to do nothing domestically except stare at the Premier League table whilst international friendlies take centre stage.
The Hammers will look far more healthy with eight points and looking up the table.
It seems that some of the pundits share the upbeat ‘mood music’ coming out of London stadium. Speaking to the media one of the Irons’ biggest critics during the last few weeks, Paul Merson, is in much more optimistic mood for Claret and Blue fans.” I would be shocked if West Ham lose this game if I’m being honest” the former Arsenal man says. “I have a feeling they’ll come alive in this fixture and get that much-needed win”.
..”The gulf in class is still quite evident and that could swing the tie in the Hammers’ favour”.
After ‘steadying the ship’ last week with an away draw against Brentford, Julen Lopetegui has had another seven days with his full squad apart from injured Niclas Fullkrug to get his ideas across and plan to improve on that disastrous last home outing against Chelsea which – I don’t know about him – but still gives me nightmares. No more strategies thought-up on the hoof, a nice solid back four, Alvarez back in midfield, Summerville starting on the left? What more could we ask.
Merson’s prediction is for a home win, three – one to West Ham. And don’t we just know Kalvin Phillips will get the ‘one’.
I totally agree Ipswich will be no pushover but we simply must not lose.
Looking at the season so far we’ve had three tough home fixtures and the only total shambles was against Chelsea. It ain’t all bad.
I think we should be taking Ipswich a lot more serious I have watched some of their games and have been unlucky not to win some of them but their lack of premier league experience has been their downfall but they will get to grips with that let’s hope it’s not in the game against us that occurs on paper we have the better players but our team Idoes not seem to be playing as a team that needs addressing ASAP
I agree. They looked very scrappy and dangerous last weekend. We have no right to take anyone lightly!
You agree? Wow, you can understand Bennyboy bakerish! Maybe you can translate for us all. 😂
Don’t be petulant. Learn English.
I agree with you, Bennyboy baker should learn how to write English properly. Learning where to put the occasional full stop, comma and capital letter would be a good start.
Who put you in charge? You need to GTFO! You would not utter one of your stupid ass comments if it weren’t from behind a keyboard. You want to prove me wrong, bring your ass to Atlanta, Texas and get a Texas size mudhole stomped in your ass.
Nice work, just 8 words before the first grammar error 😂👍🏻
On Phillips Martin, it might get a bit nervy if Ben Johnson comes on and notches one as well 😊⚒️⚒️
agreed, all the media have focused on Phillips. But Johnson would love to get on the pitch and prove a point.
Things have actually been very straightforward. We’ve been beaten by 2nd, 4th and 5th. We’ve drawn with 6th and 12th, and we’ve beaten 18th. The results have pretty much reflected the quality of the teams we’ve played.
I don’t see Ipswich as being of any great quality so I think we’ll win.
Sense as ever John, shame others seem to lurch from one side to the other with random clickbait ‘theories’ and articles.
Read our matches as they’ve actually played out and spot on for what we ‘achieved’ last season and with a squad and manager feeling their way.
Christ, the Dutchman at Manure is in year god knows what of his plan and nobody’s any the wiser. We fail to get points against Villa, Man City and Chelsea and the manager’s job is in question.
Ridiculous innit?
With proper deployment of our assets, imagine what could have been accomplished. Let’s hope the boss has “bedded in” by now and can get this club in high gear as we’ve been stuck in 1st gear. I am anxiously awaiting a revelation!
