You know when things are going well at West Ham because there always seems to be a queue of players ready and waiting to speak to reporters and offer quotes.
Following yesterday’s vital 1–0 win over Fulham, Jean-Clair Todibo was just one of several Hammers players grinning like a Cheshire cat and willing to tell anyone who would listen the reasons behind the club’s recent resurgence.
Personally, I’m not entirely sure what the precise cause is.
It could be the arrival of Paco Jémez or perhaps the dual striker signings of Pablo and Taty Castellanos. There is also a strong case for the impact of Axel Disasi or Mads Hermansen. Maybe the departures of Lucas Paquetá and Niclas Füllkrug have coincided with the upturn in form, or perhaps it is simply the tactical tweaks introduced by Nuno Espírito Santo himself.
Todibo Points to Summerville Spark
As far as Todibo is concerned, however, one man has done more than anyone else to give West Ham a genuine chance of Premier League survival — Crysencio Summerville.
According to the Hammers’ French central defender, Summerville not only terrifies opposition players — who apparently have no idea what he is going to do next — but he also causes chaos for his own teammates in training.
“The guy is incredible. His injury slowed him down and people didn’t see a lot of him. He’s just unbelievable. When he takes the ball, I think everyone is scared in the league. That’s the player he wants to be, and he has the quality to do it.”
Summerville has been exceptional for West Ham since his disallowed goal against Nottingham Forest. What once looked like an entertaining but inconsistent winger has suddenly become a reliable goalscorer — exactly the sort of player every team fighting relegation is after.

Only one thing keeping us up this year…
Spurs
Right now Summerville‘s form is exceptional. However the big fear is that either he or Fernandez (or both) will be the first one’s to be sold to cover the WH debts.
