“They’re Like Buses” | Two Way Fight for Aguerd

Confusing, isn’t it. One of West Ham’s so-called ‘high and dry’ squad members – who will be fourth choice next season – has never fully cemented his place in the team. Under Moyes he was injured and then fell out of favour: Under Lopetegui he was superseded by new signings: Maybe he needs to have a bit of a reality check.

As Simon reported earlier, turning down moves left, right and centre, Nayef Aguerd is still stuck at West Ham.

The defender appointed a Middle – Eastern  Football Agent – CANTERASPORT- the same as Kurt Zouma – to get him out of the Hammers team when under under David Moyes. So he has been publicly available for almost a year now.

After rejecting Premier League moves, European club moves – the list of clubs incudes Porto, Villarreal, Real Sociedad, and Wolves, so far, that Aguerd has considered – a new report today from Tribuna.com suggests that the choice is down to two and  Fiorentina and Al-Ittihad are – imagine it – ‘fighting for him’! The report  from 2.30 this afternoon – states:

“As per Ben Jacobs, Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are fighting hard to sign the Moroccan centre-back. They want him on loan for this season with an obligation to sign him permanently in 2025 for €20m.

West Ham are yet to agree to these terms, but Aguerd has personally given his approval to the move and would be willing to join the Saudi side.”

West Ham are looking to offload Aguerd

Time to move on, Nayef !

Where he will end up, who knows- the Saudi Pro-League has the edge, as their own transfer window doesn’t close for another few days.. Will West Ham United decide to accept the £20 million in total – possibly,  if only to get his wages off the books for the coming season. Could be a ‘late developer’ this one. But surely, Nayef, time to go?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Aguerd was not perfect -yes, he made occasional mistakes- but he is far from being a bad player.

Had he stayed on, he would have provided one more option in case of injuries in defense.

Zouma, along with West Ham Women’s team vice-captain Hawa Cissoko and Academy player Rayan Oyebade, who are also of Muslim faith, attended the third Hammers hosted Iftar meal this year.

Surely a replacement centre back is needed if he goes?!

And there’s evidence whatsoever agureds religion is the issue . If it was I’d be one of the 1st defending him .

Tottenham or arsenal fan no doubt. The smell of the race and anti semitism card all smells the same .

They’re just a sad puppet. The irony of calling us racist and then signing off with “you’re all the same” is priceless.

  • Devon Iron says:

Does everyone really think it’s ok to only have 3 centre backs in the squad?
