This Irons issue needs sorting

|

Disappointing of course but neither embarrassing or shameful and that’s where we are at – teams have to hustle and bustle to beat us – even the Manchester City’s of the world.

That we should get a 2-1 up there – the first goal scored on their manor since October – without Angelko Ogbonna alongside Zouma is remarkable.

I’ve said this before but it needs to be noted I reckon – Oggy – as the only left sided central defender is not only brilliant defensively but sets up our attacking abilities down that side where Cress is normally so prominent.

Today Moysie played his only other left sided option – the non defender Arthur Masuaku – but couldn’t get the thrust he needed down that side.

It’s a problem which I more and more believe has to be solved this winter although when and where you find such a central defensive player I have no idea.

We have seen the same problem in successive games and it’s troubling with Brighton in midweek and Chelsea at the weekend.

There’s still so much good about our team but another worry is that both Soucek and MAYBE Coufal’s body language may not be what it was last season.

Essentially though I reckon the boss will be looking to get that left sided issue solved sooner rather thanh later.

Until he does we are perhaps gonna find winning games more of a struggle.

Hear hear Hughie absolutely agree. Until we can get someone in (if!) Then perhaps play Cress (please be fit) and Young Ben for width and balance. Must rest Tomas and so can we see Kral and Vlasic in with a shout. Benrahma may have to be sub as he needs support to function.
