What do you get if you spend £27m on a player and hand them a five-year contract?
You’re waiting for the punchline but the answer is far funnier; you get five starts in the Premier League and one goal.
In case you haven’t worked it out yet, we’re talking about Nikola Vlasic, who just hasn’t had any sort of chance to prove what he can do.
A Croatia international, he came from Russia – buyers beware this summer – and just hasn’t played enough games.
Vlasic has made six starts in the Europa League but he has been on the bench for both of the last two European games. It just isn’t right.
Instead, Said Benrahma is playing regular football. We have to ask why.
The ex-Brentford star is in rotten form, more so than any other player at the club.
Yes, he scored against Spurs, but that was as simple a goal as you will see. He isn’t being given the chance to provide the output he needs to in order to be considered an automatic starter.
You can’t argue that he isn’t the man because he hasn’t had the chance to show it.
Against Lyon, we have to win. Putting a player in who needs to prove himself can only be a good thing. Play Vlasic, Moyesie.
And if the choice is him or Benraham – err, there’ no choice to make!
Lanzini will play. The end.
Neither Vlasic or Benrhama will play . So I can’t understand the point of this post.
Agreed though that Vlasic hasn’t been given a proper chance but that’s the case for probably the whole bench.Very frustrating.
Our front 4 will be Fornals,Lanzin,Bowen and Antonio
Err, isn’t the point we think he should and yours too is nothing more than an opinion anyway
