Alex Song is now looking very likely to play some part in the match against Spurs at the weekend.
It’s unlikely the midfielder will start but he’s desperate to make sure – as an ex Gunner – to make the other north London team suffer.
Spurs were interested in signing him at the same time as the Hammers went in for him but ClaretandHugh understands he made it clear he had no interest in joining the club.
And as he sets out on his way to landing a two year deal with the Irons at the end of the season it’s therefore quite fitting that he does so against Spurs.
Commenting on his return Song declared: “I’ve been seeing the guys and they’ve been doing very well. I just wanted to come back to give my contribution, especially with some important games coming up.
“We play Tottenham and Man Utd in the next few weeks and I have to be ready. I’ll work very hard to be ready for those games.”
A source close to the player said:”He loved his time at Arsenal and learned what it was all about as far as Spurs were concerned. There’s no love lost.”
