Perhaps Axel Disasi feels some sense of injustice, appearing to be West Ham’s last resort loan signing on deadline day after all else has failed. The board have been unable to bring in another player in the whole month of this winter transfer window and are now left with Disasi as their only option: The Chelsea defender has still, reportedly, to give his own verdict on a move from west to east London.
All this after West Ham tried, tried and tried again apparently, according to sportwitness.co.uk to land Real Betis’ Brazilian centre back Natan in the last few days of the window. According to the report:
“The London club acted in the final days of the January window. They tabled proposals worth around £34m (€40m) in different structures…
The first approach from West Ham included an upfront payment of £2.6m (€3m). It also contained a compulsory purchase clause of £28.1m (€33m). That clause would activate on 1 July 2026. Betis rejected the offer.
West Ham then raised the initial fee to £4.3m (€5m). They proposed a further £26.4m (€31m) payable in July. Betis again said no. A third and final bid followed with a different structure. West Ham offered £5.1m (€6m) immediately. They added £23.8m (€28m) for next summer and 15% of a future sale. Betis maintained their stance and rejected it.”
After repeated refusals from Betis, the report confirms, West Ham moved to the loan signing of Axel Disasi from Chelsea as an alternative: A move which they have, as yet, at 2pm on deadline day, failed to conclude. Skysports’ Kaveh Solekhol confirmed in a lunchtime live update ‘That move is now in doubt”
The obvious question will be why the West Ham Chairman left it so late knowing that his side has the worst defence in the Premier League. Utterly unfathomable.
Because him and her are an embarrassingly useless laughing stock throughout the world of football
I’m self employed….i don’t go looking for materials at 7 o’clock in the morning to start at 8 and then wonder why I can’t start the job coz nothing I need is in stock….this lot couldnt run a **** up in a brewery
Anyone who believes their (the board) propaganda, needs to take a long look in the mirror and assess their own ability to judge people.
Complete jokers the way our joke of a club is run
If true, these figures would likely get you Cresswell or Harwood Bellis. English players with experience in English football who are match fit now. No gambles. We have needed a CB since the summer but letting Igor go now with Todibo ban means we need someone who can play now, not the chelsea boy who hasn’t played for a year. It’s a shambles. Don’t the owners get that every game matters?? Such wasted time since 01jan and hard to say they aren’t preparing for relegation. We have a worse squad (depth and quality) than on 01jan! Not been anti board until now. Now my eyes are wide open!
Dawson available. Second coming ?⚽️⚒️
‘ We tried ‘ , is what BS will say .
Martin I always said it would end up with no centre back coming in or a poor loan signing and looks like we are not even getting that! Sulivan always looking to save money. Funny thing is he will now waste more than if he paid for a decent centre back midfielder and another keeper by getting relegated. He needs to go or it could turn nasty if he attends the game we get relegated at. Sorry but at this point can see no other out come. Oh and don’t blame the manager, he’s not perfect but the problem here is Sulivan.
I suspect we all saw it coming, Rob .
I really hope I’m wrong!
Disasi delay due to Tottenham making a late potential hijack bid for the player.
I don’t believe a word of it. Surely if they had that sort of money then they would’ve got Cresswell in instead of offering peanuts
People like you never believe anything
I have been saying Pin̈nock from Brentfod now Palace are going for him
