Mark Noble has been handed a long expected testimonial and has sent deeply grateful thanks to the chairmen.

The captain of courseĀ has played almost all his youth and first team football for West Ham, apart from two short loan spells, and, at 28, has already made 288 appearances for 33 goals.

He is listed as having started his career at the club in 2000 but was involved as a kid and after signing a new five year deal last summer inherited the captaincy from Kevin Nolan.

And just a few minutes ago – having learned he has been granted his testy by the club he tweeted the news to his 38,000 plus followers.

He declared: “What an honour, thank-you to the chairman for granting me a testimonial for March 28th, blood sweat and tears for this amazing club.”

And in a second tweet he askedĀ  dusting your boots off mate???

Have been slagging him off lately because I think he is taking a place better player could be filling but that’s not his choice,he used to be up for it every game but as he ages he is very inconsistent, saying all that I am glad he has been rewarded for sticking with us when times were hard and other clubs came looking,
Hope you have a great day as you don’t need the money like all players these days,
I am sure the fans will turn out and I hope it’s at our great ground against maybe a team of old Hammer players with Louise singing bubbles and at a price the young fans and Pensoners can afford
    GOOD LUCK MARK WELL DONE

if he gets Trevor Sinclair and Pauli dicanio to play I’m there. What are the chances of Carlos tevez flying over from Argentina? Now we’re talking fantasy football.

I read that it’s pencilled in for March 28th and the money raised is to go to Mark’s three favourite charities – good news and well deserved!

Well done noble without a doubt he fully deserves it he is claret snd blue through and through and hopefully will be a one club man however i know im sceptical but isnt 28 too early for a testimonial normally he would have got it to the end of his career like most players like gerrard giggs scholes g neville etc. Could this mean he will be sold in the summer who knows what could happen.

You get it after 10 years normally IH, which Mark has served (or will have). I doubt he’s going anywhere, he’ll be stepping out at the OS imho.

Good luck to him, fully deserved. He’s never going to be the best, or the worst, he’s a steady PL Midfielder who works extremely hard. Can never understand why he gets slagged off or defended to the hilt in some area’s. He’s a big part of our squad and I’m fine with that.

When most players come to the club, the fans normally want them “to play for the shirt” and “give 100%”, that would normally get the respect. That’s what he does, week in, week out. We’ve had far worse players ability wise, who’ve had less criticism.

Hope he has a great day, lots of old names and everyone enjoys themselves.
