During a day of uncertainty surrounding the future of Julen Lopetegui, it was confirmed following a board meeting that the Spanish Head Coach remains in charge—for now!

The 58-year-old and his backroom staff took training today.

Graham Potter was reportedly in the driving seat as an immediate replacement but is rumoured to be unhappy with a short-term deal. Talks are expected to continue in the background, with Lopetegui’s future set to be assessed based on results. The Wolves home game on Monday has been cited as a must-win fixture.

Sky News confirmed that during the board meeting, Lopetegui was reminded of three key objectives set at the start of the season: integrate all nine summer signings, implement a new playing system, and deliver consistent wins. The Spanish Head Coach argued his case on two of these three points.

Gary O’Neill at Wolves is also fighting to save his job, with rumours suggesting that Graham Potter has been linked to Molineux as well. However, Potter reportedly favours a move to West Ham. TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook suggested that discussions took place today, but, as mentioned earlier, the ex-Brighton and Chelsea manager is not interested in a short-term contract.

Kasper Hjulmand is another name linked to West Ham, with strong backing from Tim Steidten.

The club may face a backlash from supporters who are increasingly vocal about their desire for change.

Questions have arisen around Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR), but West Ham are not expected to encounter financial issues if they decide to sack Lopetegui, despite their significant summer spending. The Hammers remain in a strong position from a profit and sustainability perspective.

For now, Lopetegui and his staff will remain in charge for the visit of Wolves on Monday, 9th December

I have been a season ticket holder since the late eighties, so experienced the highs and lows of being a West Ham supporter. I previously wrote for OLAS and have contributed to a number of football publications in the past.

Can I put on record my complete faith in Sullivan and the Board to do due diligence and still **** it up completely and appoint a foreign manager with poor communication skills but with a really good agent who will give us a really good deal! They haven’t got a scooby have they. I like McKenna but there’s no chance so if it were me Michael Carrick has everything I’m looking for. Young, experienced, English and I still remember fondly Carrick and Cole destroying Coventry in the Youth Cup Final. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to wake up and see the headlines that he was our new manager!

Honestly it’s the only protest any board will take notice of . Let’s make the London stadium empty on Monday night .

I just want Lopetegui gone so that West Ham can regroup and move on, however it is quite likely that they will beat Wolves on Monday and this sorry saga rolls on. On the plus side, I have complete faith in Lopetegui continuing to be the architect of his own demise and therefore it is just a matter of time. All of this because the board is totally spineless.

Typical Sullivan if rumours are true, offer him 18 months, 6 months is no guarantee considering he is expected to try and change the philosophy while firefighting, this season is just about building. Potter will get the team passing and that would be nice to see, alternatively go with a big personality like Conceicao who will shake things up.

Wolves is a coin toss W/L . So if Westham win Lopetegui stays for a few more games and if Westham lose he’s gone maybe ? If we win we lose and if we lose we win . This is the Westham shambles . I’m hoping to get dementia so that I can forget all about Westham’s incompetent chairman , coaches and dismal football ( will save pics of 2023 Conference league and 1980 cups ) .

Boycott buying merchandise and protest in front of the Sky cameras on Monday. The only message that this chairman understands is losing money out of his pocket and bad publicity.

  • Sully is a dimwit says:

Oh sure, the old one in a row winning streak to save the managers job. He will, I’m sure, impress us with his brilliant schemes and tactics.

Is this club worth the frustration? Maybe humiliating Sully by impersonating empty seats will satisfy us.

Boycott monday night and send a message to Sullivan that we ve had enough of this clown show

  • John Ayris says:

Absolutely anything could happen on Monday night the situation is so volatile. What’s been happening is not so different to progressively losing your mind…
