The deal to bring Jean-Clair Todibo to West Ham has been described as a “miracle” transfer by someone involved in the negotiations.
Claret & Hugh spoke this morning with both a high-ranking source at West Ham and a member of the negotiating team who participated in the deal.
One experienced agent, who has acted as an intermediary in multiple Hammers transfers, described the Todibo signing as “the hardest deal I’ve ever done.”
As revealed earlier on C&H, the player and his representative worked late into the night with the Hammers’ negotiating team to finalise the details of what has become a remarkable transfer.
Some of the biggest football clubs in the world were trying to sign the French central defender, so for West Ham to emerge victorious is a testament to all involved.
A top West Ham insider also spoke exclusively to C&H within the last hour, stating, “It’s a loan with an obligation, just allows us to spread payments a bit.”
It would be fair to say that everyone involved in the deal at the London Stadium is relieved to conclude a deal that at one point seemed like a non-starter.
Well done to all involved.
somewhat ot to the good news on what we all hope will be a great signing.
Checking the ticket site it appears that the Villa tickets for next w/e are not yet up.
The digital STs have gone out by email.
Thus resales cannot be activated & for those of us with dumb phones the download pdf facility as well.
Anyone have any info as to whether this is going to change from what seemed to work well last season ??
Not many times I’ll say this well done to the board 👏👏👏👏👏
Yes, in my humble opinion it makes a great window into fantastic, especially with the news today that Bissaka might be a done deal. Yes after 7 decades this window has been the best admin thing i have witnessed and the Board deserve every credit for appointing Steidten who has been fantastic despite Moyes efforts to upset the cart.
I can think of a couple of CB’s who will be beating a path to Lop’s door now. Expect one to leave alongside Zouma at least given the 2 we’ve signed are a huge upgrade and will be starting.
What a signing Congratulations to Tim & his team We must have the very best transfer guru in the world. As supporters we can finally dream of success. Tim Steidten’s Claret & Blue Here we Go
The direct quote in this story says its an obligation to buy, but club website announces it as an option. Wonder what’s true as it’s a huge difference! Obligation means he is our player for sure, option means if he has a brilliant season he can simply turn us down and then get his move to Juve or even Man Utd, when they and Nice are no longer in the same European competition. Oh and before the inks dry on this signing, Man Utd agree Wan Bissaka sale to us…
And so, Tim is opening the door to the future for West Ham. Great signings by Tim, but the best signing was by the Board bringing in Tim Steidten. A pity Moyes didn’t feel the same way.
Pride comes before a fall, ricardo.
We have to thank Moyes! For leaving. Be careful what you wish for, Spurs signing Solankie for 65million, laughable.
Delighted with West Hams transfer business this summer, equally delighted with Spurs spending £65mil. on Dominic Solanke. 😄
