Tomkins doubts emerge

jtJames Tomkins is highly unlikely to return to action this season.

ClaretandHugh understands the central defender has virtually made his mind up to come back 100 per cent fit next season rather than to push himself back into the fray too quickly.

Reporting on the official site Stijn Vandenbroucke, Head of Medical and Sports Science said earlier this week says: “He will initially begin full training with the Development Squad before returning to training with the first-team squad. There is a chance he will be available for selection this season.”

But we understand James has told friends that he would sooner now leave it until next season!

Diafra Sakho – after visiting a specialist for a scan on his thigh this week – has healed sufficiently to start running on the pitch independently.
