James Tomkins has given an update on his dislocated shoulder and hopes to be back before the end of the season.
Speaking to www.whufc.com he said: “Hopefully it will not set me back and I will be able to play a couple of games before the end of the season, you never know.
“It depends on how well it goes. I’m preparing myself mentally that I won’t play again this season, so if I come back earlier then it’s a bonus.
“I was in the gym doing some exercises like I normally do, but just went a bit too far with one of them and unfortunately I dislocated my shoulder.
“I’d have been frustrated if I had done it on the pitch, so to do it in the gym made it even more frustrating.
“I had the operation about two weeks ago and it has settled down. I’m progressing with my rehab and getting more movement and hopefully I can get back as soon as I can.
“When you look at the fixtures, we have got quite winnable games, so I am confident the lads can get a lot of points from them with the squad we have got.
“I hope the lads stay injury-free and can push on and secure at least a top-half finish – that’s definitely our aim.”

So now the aim is to get a top half finish,the bar is being set lower & lower as every game goes by.Top 4,then europa placing,then it was 8th.Now it is down to a top half finish at least.Four games time they will be saying it is to finish one place above last year is good & an improvement.By the way,all the pro sam boys were saying that he would meet what was in his remit from the board for a top half finish.It could be squeeky bum time for the Sam believers soon.
I still have in my mind what Mr Cottee said some weeks ago ” we will end up close to 60 points”… lol… I think we’re safe, thanks Sam, mission completed. GAME OVER.
Yeah but TC also said about two months ago that we should give Sam a new contract there & then,though i havnt heard him say anything recently.He has gone quiet on that debate 😀

But seriously what does a player mean when they “winnable games”? To me that means they think some are not winnable. Surely a player should think EVERY bloody game is winnable. Maybe they could run us through the fixture list at the start of the season and tell us which ones are not winnable so we are not disappointed when the game comes around.
