West Ham United fans can breathe a sigh of relief as reports suggest Lucas Paqueta is set to stay at the club, despite interest from his former side Flamengo.
GOAL Brazil reporter Raisa Simplicio, revealed that Flamengo encountered “enormous difficulty” in signing Paqueta. It now appears that negotiations spearheaded by Flamengo’s vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, were unsuccessful.
While Paqueta reportedly expressed a willingness to return to his former club, a deal couldn’t be agreed upon. It is believed the Brazilian club were unable to raise the necessary funds for the transfer once it became clear that West Ham would not sanction a loan move.
The Hammers find themselves in a tricky situation regarding Paqueta due to the ongoing FA charges against him. The potential for a lengthy suspension prompted West Ham to explore a loan or permanent transfer, with Flamengo emerging as a possibility.
With Flamengo’s bid falling short, Paqueta is expected to remain at the London Stadium, at least for the foreseeable future.
New West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui appears likely to integrate Paqueta into his playing strategy before any potential punishment is handed down.
While Paqueta’s presence bolsters West Ham’s attacking options, he faces pressure to make the most of his playing time before a potential ban disrupts his season.
Although the failed negotiations could have presented West Ham with an opportunity to generate funds for potential reinforcements in other areas of the squad.
This story was xxxxxx from the start Flamengo’s record transfer paid is for Gabriel Barbosa at just under 15 million GBP….they could pay even a small amount of his wage let alone a ‘buy option after a loan’ which is a ridiculous report anyway.
Should he receive a life time ban, Will the MP’s who bet on election date, also receive life time bans from public office….just saying……
No comparison.
(SILLY TALK)
MPs bet on who would win the election, like betting on a horse race!
Paqueta is accused of rigging yellow cards that were handed to him after he supposedly Initiated them.
If guilty he is finished & rightly so.
Think before you post👍
I was surprised to see what the revenue of Flamengo is, 192 Million Euros in 2022/23. Largest revenue in Brazil by some margin.
Our revenue in the same period was 275 Million Euros.
They are not as far away from us as probably most people think.
Not surprised. No way could they even afford half his wages, let alone any fees.
