Former Hammer Julian Faubert has been linked to shock move to Aston Villa as a free agent. Faubert signed for the Hammers for £6.1m in 2007 on a five year contract amid big expectations, but could score only two league goals during 103 appearances.
He was famously loaned to Real Madrid for a loan fee thought to £1.5m plus wages while a Hammer, where he was snapped sleeping on the subs bench. His loan spell finished with only two appearances.
He is now a free agent after being released by Bordeaux in the summer and the Sun claim Aston Villa want to snap him up.
West Ham play Aston Villa at Villa Park on Boxing Day and there remains a remote possibility he would face his former club.
Poor old Julien, he came to us with the reputation of being ‘the proverbial of a shovel’ but injury robbed him of that electric pace and he ended up being just ‘the proverbial’ – great shame!
Nothing wrong with sleeping on a bench.I used to do it all the time.Good luck to Julien.
