Whilst it was good to learn yesterday that West Ham had no intention of selling Jarrod Bowen, this stance does not seem to have deterred Newcastle United.
In fact, even the hefty £100 million price tag attached to the winger seemed to do little to quell the news stories of a Toon transfer.
Bowen himself has made it known that he is settled in Essex with his young family and is more than happy to remain at the London Stadium.
However, more stories persist despite the fact that the Magpies have limited spending power in this transfer window due to profit and sustainability regulations.
Therefore, the latest stories linking Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon with a move to Liverpool are starting to make a lot more sense. If the Anfield club does manage to lure Scouser Gordon away from the Northeast, it would surely cost big money and boost the Toons’ coffers.
A cash injection from the sale of the ex-Everton winger to their city rivals would be enough for Newcastle to launch a massive transfer bid for Bowen.
There would, of course, be a strange sense of irony if West Ham, having seen off interest from Liverpool in both Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, saw speculation in our HOTY reignited by the sale of a completely different winger to Liverpool.
Newcastle obviously thinking that Bowen can play left side then. Strange.
Hands off Toon, not a chance.
What would Danny say?
At the end of the day even if Newcastle did get the funds together Bowen will still say no just like ings has ,you can lead a horse to water but as the saying goes you can’t make it drink
Gordon plays LW / Bowen RW 🤷♂️
Even if the Toons made a crazy offer and WHU passed it over to Bowen to make the decision, he’s still likely to say a respectful no thanks. But who knows.
Every player has their price but i doubt Newcastle are serious in making a move probably paper talk to try and appease their fans……Bowens settled he gets picked for England he is settled with his family and plays regular first team football for the greatest team on earth so he is not going nowhere COYI
What another pointless article 😴
We already know we are not selling , it’s just another what if this happened and then this might happen. A load of BS
