Top award for Carroll

CarrollAndy Carroll’amazing strike against Crystal Palace has been named January’s Goal of the Month.

The unforgettable goal came at the end of a great move which helped the Irons to a  3-0 victory over the Eagles at London Stadium.

Andy’s strike was judged better than Olivier Giroud’s scorpion-kick by a panel including Sir Alex Ferguson and Thierry Henry, and a public vote.

After picking up the award Carroll beamed: “I’m delighted to have won the Goal of the Month competition, especially given how good some of the other goals were.

“As soon as I hit it I knew it was in, I got a good connection and knew it would hit the back of the net. It’s definitely the best goal I’ve ever scored, one I’m very proud of.

“I enjoy every goal I score, but that one was certainly a little bit more special – I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of watching that one back.”

  1. That looks smart as it works. You can almost imagine him laying on a treatment table with his arm dangling over the side of it 😂😂

  2. Was definitely a pleasure to watch it live then see it replayed a few times on the big screen COYI !!!

  3. It was great to see that goal live but it didn’t come anywhere near the feeling when THAT goal by DiCanio went in. We all looked at each other in disbelief. Two absolute great goals though. Incidentally, Carroll’s goal was much better than Giroud’s goal as that had a huge element of luck in it.
