“Top Choice” | Frontrunner For Lopetegui’s West Ham Job Emerges

It seems a favorite has emerged to take over the West Ham hot seat should current head coach Julen Lopetegui lose his next two Premier League games.

Whilst no official ultimatum has been announced, it’s an open secret that should Lopetegui lose away to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United on Monday, followed by defeat at the London Stadium to Arsenal, he will be sacked.

A list of uninspiring coaches has been put forward to replace the Spaniard, and it would seem that former West Ham assistant manager Edin Terzic is currently the favourite within the club. However, the German media are increasingly confident that Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeneß could be the man in the Hammers’ dugout as early as December.

Hoeneß guided Stuttgart to second place in the Bundesliga last season, not only securing Champions League football in the process but also beating Terzic’s Dortmund team, who finished in fourth place.

Hoeneß’s achievements were all the more impressive considering he turned VfB Stuttgart from a relegation-threatened Bundesliga club into a real force in German football.

Certainly, in my view, the former TSG 1899 Hoffenheim boss is the best option among those named yesterday as the top contenders.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

More West Ham moaning is done on a daily basis here 👇👇

how can Sullivan NOT see that paying compensation just 1nce may save him millions in the short and/or long term? it may work out so well he may never have to do it again. GET ON WITH IT!!!

    • Matt says:

Well said. It’s the most crucial role to get right at the club but Sully keeps getting it epically wrong!

  • Taffyhammer says:

Hoeness might be good but Frank Lampard comes with a past Iron guarantee.

  • David Moyes says:

    Please let this be true….
Won’t happen though,it’s Sullivan at the end of the day

  • Nostrahammers says:

We won’t be able to compete with the big clubs untill Sullivan realises that sometimes you have to pay compensation to get the right man for the job. In my view, of all the names being talked about for the job. Hoeness is the outstanding candidate.

    • Matt says:

100% he is someone who could turnaround this season and hopefully stay a few years so we can believe again

  • SirAlfred says:

    Nice thought but wont happen.

Sullivan dont pay compensation in some strange attempt at virtue signalling but also part of his “penny wise pounds foolish” master strategy.

Also this Hoeness geezer needs to be on the books of Will Salthouse,Mackay or one of his sychophantic agents. Sullivan has to have control

    • lee says:

sully may offer an xmas hamper of dildos to win him over !!!

    • Matt says:

Surely Sully knows there will be chaos and calls for his head if he doesn’t appoint someone like Hoeness!!

    • Matt says:

Don’t you think it’s time Sully finally learned from his repeated mistakes. Doing the same thing and expecting different results is madness

    • Tezzard says:

Totally agree, and to use another well used phrase , you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. No way will Sullivan break a habit of a lifetime and actually fork out a fee for what is in fact the most important role .

Penny wise pound foolish sums up his record as a football chairman.

  • Phil Baker says:

The performance against Newcastle is perhaps as important as the result . If Westham get a fluky good result against the run of play , I will not be swayed from my opinion that LOSEpetegui must be sacked immediately . Some have suggested that two narrow defeats and he keeps his job . LOSEpetegui has in essence scammed all of his recent employers out of 10’s of millions in golden parachute pay offs in order to get rid of him , it’s a pattern with him now . If the right manager isn’t available now , bring in an interim to get Westham safely to next summer when the options will be far greater .

    • Matt says:

We need Hoeness now and £5m secures him immediately. We can’t afford to wait as then other clubs might snap him up.

We already got burnt on Amorin. Making same mistake twice would be painful & stupid.

  • TommyD says:

Hoeness would be the only appointment out of those mentioned which would demonstrate any real ambition. Having followed the German media’s reaction to Terzic’ reign at Dortmund and the fallout that followed with several of their key players openly speaking out about his negative tactics, I believe this would be a disaster. The UCL final appears to be an anomalie in an otherwise disastrous charge. Still unsure why Potter isn’t getting a mention- even as a short term option though?!

  • Magnum says:

Personally Sérgio Conceição would be my choice but we need a change and if that means someone Tim trusts like Terzic or Hoeness then just get it done why wait for two obvious defeats before getting rid.

    • Matt says:

Having a coach aligned with Tim is the only way we progress after the conflict with Moyes and the latest clueless imposter JLo

  • Matt says:

I’ve been saying this for ages!

It will be Christmas come early if we get Hoeness!

Shame we didn’t get him in the summer but if he joins us then I will back at the LS and end my self exile.

Please let this be true 🙏

    • Martin Treasure says:

..thought you’d like this post, Matt

      • Matt says:

Not wrong Martin! Hoeness would show true ambition and that Sully hopefully has learned from his mistake.

        • Alan says:

Unless Stuttgart are willing to accept a couple of dildos and a complimentary browse of the Daily Sport as compensation, I’m afraid it’s not happening.

I’ve already started making my ‘WELCOME RAFA’ banner for when Lop gets the push.

          • Matt says:

After the games at the end of the Moyes era I promised myself I’d stay away until we had a project & coach we could believe in.

Not been YET this season because of the 🤡 and will definitely not return if Rafa rocks up next.

I’m hoping Hoeness returns so I also can return to get behind our team ⚒️

  • John Ayris says:

Hoeness is my choice, but I thought that the club policy was not to pay compensation for managers ?????

I cannot see us getting anything against Newcastle or Arsenal, we would need to change out of any recognition, but if Hoeness was appointed after Arsenal then I’d be made up.

    • Matt says:

Me too John! I’d be doing cartwheels all the way for my first visit to the stadium,

      COYI ⚒️♥️🩵
