Head of Medical and Sports Science Stijn Vandenbrouck has given his latest injury update and has happily declared “Dimi Payet is in a good physical place.”“After a long time out, players need to get to a minimum level of fitness to reduce the risk of injury on their return. ”
Stijn told www.whufc.com: “Manuel Lanzini is also in the final phase of his rehab and, should he continue to progress at the current rate, he will be join the full squad very soon.”
Winston Reid and Victor Moses are running outside and are both on schedule to join training in early January. We will have more details on their recovery from their respective hamstring injuries next week.
Finally, Alex Song suffered a small eye injury during the game against Swansea City and is currently training with protective glasses on.
No news on Sakho? – I saw the pictures of his thigh and it looks bad – he’s probably our most important player – I’ve been reading about thigh injuries and they talk about rest, ice and elevation they don’t mention operations! I’ve heard talk of a ruptured thigh muscle but don’t know the details or if that’s true, you know whst twitter is like!
We need him back badly!
