Top news as Hammer makes rapid recovery

|

Nayef Aguerd appears to be much closer to a Hammers debut than has been expected.

The £30 million summer signing was of course injured in pre season and had been expected to be off until the World Cup break at least.

But the central defender is making rapid progress and is now back on the Rush Green training pitches with the first-team squad ahead of Wednesday’s away game against Liverpool.

He will not be available for the game of course but there now seems a real chance we shall see the player in action much more quickly than had been speculated

He started his recovery to full fitness earlier this month and has been seen back training on grass but this is the first time he has re=joined a first-team training session.

He has even posted on social; media declaring: “Happy to be back on the pitch  Loading…”

The 26-year-old centre-back was a £30m signing of the Moroccan defender from Rennes back in June signing a five-year contract with the Hammers.
