It was always going to be a difficult ask, seeking to bring Premier League talent ‘down’ to the Championship to spearhead West Ham’s promotion push.
The Irons are struggling to convince Axel Disasi that a move to east London would be mutually beneficial and from the sound of it, he’s not the only Premeir League star who is dragging his feet at the prospect of playing in the second tier.
Footballinsider247 claims this evening that despite a ‘substantial’ offer, Nuno’s prime midfield target has given a bug thumbs down to playing in the Championship next season:

Which will hardly come as a surprise to anyone at West Ham who had their feet planted firmly on the ground.
A former England u21 and Manchester City player, could find himself a home at any number of mid table Premier League sides so quite how the Hammers planned to snare him isn’t known.
It seems to no avail – West Ham will have to go back to the drawing board in their search for a creative playmaker to take the club forward.
James McAtee gives me the same sort of vibe as Jack Wilshere in an Irons shirt.
Best left to follow his dreams at somewhere like Milton Keynes.

We don’t know if he was a target or not or if this was just paper talk, as mentioned many times the leaks at the club have stopped.
Every transfer window we are linked with loads of players that may or may not have been targets in previous windows.
I said it in other posts that Glasner would want to look at all the players before any decisions were made and can’t see any situation where MacAtee would be put up for sale before that happened.
If you had the chance to work for a manager that plays attacking football and has won two major trophies in the last two years what would you do, move to the championship or work under that manager ?
