West Ham are in the market for a top-class centre-forward.
That’s the latest from a top insider at the London Stadium who spoke to C&H early this evening.
We went right to the top at West Ham in an attempt to uncover the club’s January transfer plans. As we reported earlier, we were informed that the club had received no bids for Mohammed Kudus and his price would be Ā£100m.
It was later explained to us that any potential transfer funds would be put towards recruiting a top-class striker. “We could do with a top-class centre-forward and need to raise funds,” was the message from the very top of the club.
Where this situation leaves Niclas Füllkrug is anyone’s guess, but as Iāve maintained for quite some time, Iād be amazed if the Ā£27m German striker is still here next season.
The injury to Michail Antonio has hastened the clubās need for a reliable striker, and it is highly unusual for West Ham to be so frank about their transfer window plans. However, it has been made clear to us that “anything is possible” in the upcoming window as the club looks to bring more balance to the squad.
I’m of the opinion that it’s the player’s that are currently on loan who’d be the one’s where funds can be raised from, possibly negotiating for an obligation to buy being the objective. Therefore Hammers could seek a loan to buy striker themselves offsetting the accounts receivable!
One marquee player minimum could be sold for a huge amount too, if not in January then most likely in the summer at season end.
This season is a write off and Sullivan will likely keep faith with Loppy until the summer.
Guess we will be looking for a new coach and need an even bigger rebuild squad wise when the Premiership concludes.
Sound familiar?
Well done Sullivan!
If it had been up to Steidten we would have had Gyokeres, and later Duran but others decided those things to be unwise and so we ended up with Fullkrug instead.
We also would have had Amorim, Fonseca or Hoeness but others thought Lopetegui to be the better appointment.
Yep! Itās just shows a lack of trust, strategy and forward thinking that has caused this dilemma.
Top class strikers are hardly going to want a club in chaos that is mid table at best or hovering just above the drop zone.
Is this supposed to be tongue-in-cheek or is this being reported like it’s breaking news?
Like, serious question.
If it were tongue-in-cheek then something like “To the surprise of nobody…” would make it clear but an “EXCLUSIVE” header with things like “Thatās the latest from a top insider at the London Stadium who spoke to C&H early this evening. We went right to the top at West Ham in an attempt to uncover the clubās January transfer plans.” kinda had me reading it and paraphrasing Basil Fawlty with “Name? Claret & Hugh. Specialist subject? Stating the bleedin’ obvious.”
Obviously, we do need a striker, but we also need some youth and legs in midfield.
I suppose depends on Kudus with regard funds, but otherwise need to look at loans.
Time for the scouting network to earn their crustā¦..
I dont think Snidten would waste his own money like he has
Would you prefer Callum Wilson via Sullivan’s favourite agent?
thanks again Dame Annette Brady
It’s not steitdens fault. That belongs to the two bob dwarf with the big mouth.
