West Ham United ITK ExWHUEmployee has revealed which player could be the club’s next transfer target following recent failed bids.
The Hammers have seen Jacob Ramsey understandably agree to join Newcastle United rather than move to the London Stadium. And on Tuesday, Southampton knocked back a bid for their prized midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
As a result, West Ham are either playing very hard to get or have turned their attentions elsewhere — which is where Ngal’ayel Mukau of Lille comes into the equation.
Graham Potter has interest in the player, and following an impressive display against West Ham in the Boyle Sports Cup, he appears to have moved up the target list.
At €20m, he would appear to be more modestly priced than Fernandes and would certainly offer energy and a defensive shield to the Irons’ back line.
However, he is nothing like Ramsey or the delightfully skilled Saints midfielder, so I wouldn’t really consider him an alternative. Realistically, he’s more of an addition — and a strong case can be made for needing both an energetic ball-winner and a more creative midfielder.

Everyone is panicking and i do not understand why when Brownhill will be unveiled as our new pacey dynamic midfield maestro all the other names linked are just smoke and mirrors so nobody snatches him from under our noses
Every hammer must realise we will only sign freebies or the dad’s army brigade the rest of those rumours are exactly as you state smoke and mirrors being put out by sullivans propaganda team to make it look like west ham is important to him when the facts, are clear his only in it for the wealth it can bring him. And my post on here are still being vetted.
We need dynamism to our midfield. Someone who will receive the ball from the back four or defensive midfield and turn and carry it forward to create some momentum. Declan used to do it. We haven’t replaced that quality
I don’t think we are being unrealistic with our current targets , mcatee is a good player but is he worth what forest are paying and if we haven’t got that money then move on more quickly to other targets who we can afford . Good to see kante doing well last night .
Better than ending up with nothing.
Fernandes could still come but at least it’s a start.
‘Jeep’, we’ve gone down that “better than nothing” route too many times in the past and wasted millions . “Nothing” is preferable to a player that doesn’t quite fit.
If prime targets are not available then save the budget for the next window. We’ve already got enough to steer clear of any relegation scrap.
