Tore passes medical

|

slavtoreWe understand that Gökhan Töre passed the second part of his medical at Spire Roding Hospital today after completing part one yesterday.

The 24 year has already to personal terms which just leaves the actual signing of the contract and the big announcement which should happen today or tomorrow.

The in-form midfielder had three years left on his contract in Turkey having just completed a successful domestic campaign after Besiktas lifted their first Turkish league title in seven years. Tore notched six goals and nine assists in 35 games in 2015-16 in all competitions, playing on both the left and right-hand side of midfield.

Expect a tweet from Jack Sullivan followed by an official announcement very soon.

Yes! it’s taking shape at last. Now for the striker.

Dont know what all the panic is about, plenty twists and turns till Sept but I trust slav and the board to have a quality squad in our new stadium

About time this deal was sorted it has been on going for weeks. Another good signing, this summer so far has seen quality players signing for very little outlay. Must still have a healthy amount left for a top striker & then some.

Another midfielder? Why? We have the two new signings plus Noble, Payet, Kouyate, Lanzini, Antonio, Obiang, Poyet and Samuelson. As for a striker? Let’s hope that Emineke’s or Valencia’s replacement is worthy.

I would say he is more of a winger than midfielder actually.

He is a left sided left footed midfielder so gives us genuine width down the left, perish the thought if anything happened to Dimi we have cover plus he can also play right wing or through the middle as the tip of a diamond.

Another great signing giving us width and speed for counter attacking plus he has a great work rate off the ball should blend well with Cressie on the left and better then Valencia in that area,
    Good replacement for Moses,

Liking it. Now we just need a top striker, full back (a centre half in my opinion too), and I also think we could do with another centre mid. In terms of players that can play centre mid/holding midfield, we only really have noble kouyate nordveit and obiang, which I don’t think is really strong enough depth wise.

Sounding good, although I would have preferred his record to have been 9 goals and 6 instead of 6 goals and 9 assists in 35 games; it was, afterall, ‘only’ the Turkish league…
If we have a dangerous midfield, capable of scoring from all over the place, it makes it very difficult for the opposition to who to pick up. So I don’t see not having a 20 goal striker as so imperative…(although we HAVE got one, I reckon, in Antonio).
Relying on 1 or 2 hitmen for all our goals is pretty risky if they get injured.
My biggest concern is a RB, but I’m not worrying; In DS + Slav we trust….(…even if Tommo leaving still seems like madness!)…..
The future’s bright; the future’s claret and blue!
