Tottenham in Big Trouble as Palace Defeat Hands West Ham ANOTHER Relegation Lifeline

Tottenham Remain 1 Point Ahead of West Ham After Palace Collapse

Spurs 1-3 Crystal Palace

If Tottenham were not entirely sure they were in a relegation scrap with West Ham before tonight, they will certainly be aware of it now.

The North Londoners lost their own “must-win” game against Crystal Palace in the most controversial of fashions.

Spurs had taken the lead in the first half through Dominic Solanke, but the game turned dramatically following a moment of madness from captain Micky van de Ven. The defender conceded a penalty and was shown a red card, leaving Tottenham to play the remainder of the match with ten men.

From that moment on, Spurs were given the runaround for the remainder of the first half.

Adam Wharton began pulling the strings in midfield as Palace quickly turned their numerical advantage into a winning position.

Spurs Collapse Raises Relegation Stakes

When Palace went 3–1 ahead through Jørgen Strand Larsen, home supporters began streaming out of the stadium before half-time in scenes reminiscent of West Ham’s heavy defeat to Arsenal a couple of seasons ago.

Tottenham now face a difficult run of fixtures, including a Champions League double-header against Atletico Madrid with a Premier League clash against Liverpool sandwiched in between.

All things considered, it rounds off an excellent gameweek for West Ham.

The Hammers secured a crucial 0–1 victory over Fulham, while both Spurs and Leeds United lost and Nottingham Forest managed a draw against Manchester City.

Suddenly, the relegation battle looks very different indeed — and West Ham are right back in it.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

Tottenhams form is beyond any belief, they are truly appalling. There’s been no new manager bounce at all, if anything they’re worse. The only momentum they have is downward.

When I saw who they appointed I was jawdropped, I thought what on Earth do they see in him that makes them think he might turn things around. I still think it.

Where was that “Souless Bowl” again?

  • Alhama hammer says:

Every single neutral I’ve spoken to wants Tottenham relegated, let’s hope that kind of cosmic energy plays its part😀

Lets not get carried away with this one…There is a lot of football to be played..Who saw Man City Drawing at home to Forest?….Hands up !….Exactly!…..Who saw Wolves beating Liverpool??…..So dont start jumping around…Our boys are doing fine…Chipping away at the table…The togetherness looks real..They trust each other …Lets all come together and support them…They know we have their backs in games…This could prove vital…As it says on my fridge magnet…Stay calm and support West ham.

Great result and performance from the spuds. They look absolutely lost and definitely not up for the fight. Could it actually happen!!??!!

Everyone criticised W Ham when we only took a point against Bournemouth But that point looks critically important now dosnt it Patience is important Lots of highs and lows to come but we will get through now imn confident of that

  • Mr T R says:

West Ham have earned their chance by being the best current form team out of the four clubs….. with 8 points from 6 games, compared to Forest’s 3 points, Spurs’ one, and Leeds’ five.
‘Another lifeline’ makes it sound as if they don’t deserve it.

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Spuds looked terrible, they scored a goal out of nothing when they should have been 1 0 down but were saved by a very dubious VAR offside call and ended up 1 0 ahead. Then the wheels fell off Van Der Ven red which means their best defender will be out for the next 3 games followed by 3 excellent goals by Palace who themselves played relatively well especially Sarr and Wharton, they will be a handful for us if they play like they did as will Wolves, it’s a weird season when I fancy us more against Villa than Wolves.

Having said all that we have to keep doing what we are doing 9 more cup finals.

In a strange World if we stay up and Spuds go down we could sell our best players to balance the books and buy someone like Archie Gray from Spurs and Sarr apart from Van Der Venn, maybe Maddison and Solanke can’t think of any Spurs players that I would buy.

    Onwards and upwards COYI!!!

    • Simon Barham says:

Think Van de Ven’s ban will be one game as it was for denying a goalscoring opportunity ..

  • Russell Burke says:

Just read a question post match: When will Surs win a game in 2026?
That’s easy- In August in the Championship

Right back in it – yes, Gonzo. However we still need to get points and get above 18th.

Tottenham still have more points than us and they are not going to fall below us. We need to climb above and stay above.

Really hope that we can do it but it will take full effort from now until the end.

Not lighting the cigars just yet but my smile has returned.

Ah man! I’m working from home this morning, I’ve had the game live text on my phone and the temptation to go watch the second half of Spurs getting smashed was so much.
