Tottenham women takes over the London Stadium

LynLondon Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) who now fully own the London Stadium have appointed Haringey’s council former Strategic Director Regeneration, Planning & Development as their new Chief Executive.

Lyn Gardner is now in charge of LLDC replacing David Goldstone who left in November to join the Ministry of Defence as Chief Operating Officer doubling his previous £263,000 salary. Gardner’s previous role at the London Borough of Haringey included leading all regeneration & development programmes for the borough including Tottenham which is thought to have included the planning deal which allowed the rebuilding of White Hart Lane.

Lyn’s career in Local Government has spanned finance, housing and regeneration. She spent 9 years at London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham leading the transformation of homelessness services before moving into regeneration to build the development and estate renewal aspects of the council’s Local Plan.

LLDC Chairman Sir Peter Hendy said: “I am delighted to welcome Lyn as our new Chief Executive. She has an outstanding track record. I am looking forward to working with her in the years ahead as we take Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to new heights and continue to deliver results in what we are proud to call the most successful urban regeneration programme in Europe. Lyn was appointed following a highly competitive recruitment exercise that demonstrated this project continues to attract the very best candidates in their field. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank David Goldstone for his leadership and hard work and wish him well in his new role.”

  1. Ask her to put the claret mat around the track for starters which should be funded by the taxpayer ! Of which I’m one and do not object in the slightest ! And when the most successfull project in Europe looses another good few million quid she should give the stadium for free to new owners of west ham when the present ones get hounded out and go on to run Barcelona on a budget of 27 euros per decade enticing the best players with that jelly babies can buy ! And from the taxpayers purse again the finances to turn the track into a football stadium where we can all be close to the pitch watching a game of football instead of watching ants scurrying around looking lost 😉
