Tottenham’s 31 point relegation shock prediction | West Ham’s great escape is ON

Having had to sit through the dark days of November and December and often tried to come up with something positive to write when West Ham United’s relegation likelihood was regularly forecast at 80% plus, the fact that the forecasts are finally turning in West Ham’s favour is definitely something I’m going to shout about.

The remarkable transformation that appears to be taking shape at the foot of the Premier League is finally working through to the casinohawks super computer prediction that had been stubbornly forecasting- even as recently as last week – that West Ham were still most in danger of being the ‘third club’ relegated, this despite the Irons’ uptick in form.

Finally the dial has shifted and the results of thousands of simulations taken by the all-knowing stats wizard has been picked up this morning by the yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk who of course have their own team in the mix:

“Leeds United, Spurs, West Ham, Forest relegation shock:

“A new supercomputer has served up a relegation shocker in its predicted final Premier League table.”

Is their headline. Their report details the nosedive of Tottenham’s form – in which the latest simulations predict Tottenham will be relegated in 18th spot, securing just two more points this season.

West Ham United’s latest predicted final Premier League points tally is 42 – with the Hammers escaping pretty comfortably, projected to end the season sitting in 17th place.

Which, of course is ‘just’ statistics and forecasts.

However what is important here is the margin of safety: Spurs’ tally of 31 points puts them so far behind the Hammers that even with a hefty margin for error, West Ham’s great escape 2.0 is ‘on’ – anything approaching 38 points looks to be beyond Spurs if the forecast – by a bookmaker’s supercomputer -(who aren’t known for getting the odds wrong often) proves remotely accurate.. and is as much to do with the North London side’s slide as the Hammers’ own pick up in form.

Happy days then. Enjoy that this weekend.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

I think it’s a fantasy to think they will only get another TWO points. A cursery look at their fixtures would suggest they SHOULD get at least another 7-8 points, but possibly as many as 13. 7 would take them to 36 points and I believe we will finish with 37. That means if they find form and get 13 or more we would need at least 42 points. Of course,it’s Forest we need to leap above at the moment.

Still important to understand that Tottenham will not slide below West Ham. West Ham have to climb above them.

Remember Avram Grant’s season. We were 18th/19th for the last 10 games. Every time that we gained points, so did the teams just above us. These teams refused to slide below us. I’ll be a lot happier when we are higher than 18th. Then we can press on with confidence.

I’ve been highlighting Tottenhams truly abysmal form for some time now, their form is frankly beyond any belief.

I’ve been saying that it cannot continue as bad as it is purely because it is so jawdroppingly bad.

There’s no sign of any uptick though and indeed they’ve been worse of late, but they have had a lot of injuries, a real lot of injuries, and you would think that situation must improve.

They’ve sacked the manager and that’s not worked, things look worse for them than you would think can possibly continue as bad as it is.

I hope it is true, as mentioned in your other post credit to Mark Carlaw from West Ham Way who visualised the form guides dating back 20 10 5 games showing West Ham consistently improving and Spurs consistently dipping.

There are no guarantees though we need to stay focused until the last whistle is blown in May and keep improving we can only control our own outcomes and we need to ride the momentum in honesty 1 point from next 2 games would still be good anything else a bonus and our run in is challenging so we have to keep performing and picking up points COYI!!!

Hope that this forecast turns out to be true; & it might well do so. But, this is just guesswork & nothing more. Just as West Ham were in a desperate run of form during December & early January, so Spurs are now in the same situation. Where is their next point coming from ? Who knows ? We were in the same situation, but have raised our game – thank goodness – who knows whether Spurs will do the same ? Or that we won’t regress. Who would have forecast that Forest would have picked up a draw at Man City ? I don’t think that the “computer” would have forecast that one correctly, do you ? This sort of speculation is pointless.

TBH I’m getting fed up with all these super computer predictions. I thought we would be fine around early November as we had a run of 6 easier games coming up, that on paper we should have kicked on. I think out of a potential 18 points we got 1point , a draw against Brighton. So then, like most people, I was certain we would drop and then saw the performances against Sunderland and Chelsea first 60 minutes and was confident again we will stay up. Whilst Spurs problems are not down to their new manager, if they keep him they will drop. I worry that they will get a more enthusiastic manager in who can raise their play and spirits. I just hope that doesn’t happen.

What will Kudus be wearing on his heart if this forecast turns out to be correct.
50% cut in wages could see him on his way.
If whu had any money offer could to buy him for £25m!!!
Not sure he would be wanted even at that price.
