West Ham hierarchy fear what the financial accounts for this season and next will bring. With Premier League wage-to-turnover rules set to come into effect next summer, the club may face tough decisions. However, given the many variables, the club won’t need to decide on necessary actions until the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh’s Sean Whetstone earlier this week, a top club insider said, “Wages have gone through the roof” and hinted that “we might have to make some tough decisions.”
While the West Ham insider did not provide specifics, it was implied that selling a player is a possibility, though it is clear that it won’t be the likes of Danny Ings. During the same conversation, it was pointed out that recent calculations regarding the Hammers’ net spend were inaccurate because only profit on player sales gets amortised, rather than the full transfer fee.
Since no specific player was mentioned, we won’t speculate, but there are likely only a few players who could generate the funds needed to fully balance the books.
You won’t speculate hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
it’s all you ever do, and spread gossip and rubbish fed to you by the dishonest ‘insiders’ at our club. The worst for it in the EPL. A laughing stock.
Are you seriously suggesting that the board and and our management didn’t understand basic amortisation and calculated their revenue wrong for the Premier League rules and so now we have to sell a player.
Oh do shut up repeating this nonsense.
I’d rather they just said we need to sell a player to balance the books.
There is little excuse for self inflicted injury, better to just keep quiet.
