A bidding war for Crysencio Summerville looks to be underway, with momentum building on several fronts.
Roma were first to move, edging closer earlier this week to triggering the £40m release clause and pushing ahead with talks over personal terms. Reports remain split on the numbers. Roma are believed to be offering £65k per week, while Summerville is holding firm for a package closer to £100k.
Aston Villa had been lurking in the background, though suggestions were that they’d need to shift players before joining the chase. That stance appears to have changed. With Youri Tielemans having now joined Manchester United, Villa are reportedly preparing to open discussions with Summerville and West Ham United.

For a player a lot of fans moaned about regarding injuries and when he plays he gets knocked off the ball and does not do much and the same goes for Mav where fans were booing him coming on as a sub and wanted him gone but now its we can’t sell these players they are vital to the team etc etc you just have to laugh…Summerville will go no doubt and to a side who will use him a lot better than we did and he will flourish.. Mav well it seems the club are now intent on keeping him regardless of his agents touting him around the Bundesliga….
I assume by “bidding war” you are talking about his salary negotiations, if he has a release clause presumably everyone will offer that?
I am not sad to see Summerville go, in 2 seasons he had one flash of form with goals and assists.
Yes he had injuries but his form at the end of the relegation season after his latest injury was part of the reason we went down.
Very frustrating player with so little end product most of the time.
But playing for Holland in the shop window, no issues. Creative, effective and energetic.
