Many believed that Nayef Aguerd could be the perfect central defender for Julen Lopetegui’s tactics. The Spaniard prefers his teams to control possession and likes his centre-backs to be agile and comfortable on the ball.
This would seem to make Aguerd an excellent option in Lopetegui’s defensive set-up. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely to happen. Claret & Hugh has learned from a top source at West Ham that the Moroccan is determined to depart.
Many had seen video footage of Aguerd congratulating George Earthy as he escorted the youngster to the team dressing room following West Ham’s 3-1 Premier League win against Luton. However, any hopes that pictures of a happy Aguerd meant he would remain at the club were dashed when the club informed Claret & Hugh, “Aguerd seems to want to leave.”
It’s a massive shame for a defender who David Moyes chased for over two years. Many have questioned Aguerd’s suitability to the EPL, but some fans had hoped West Ham would see the best from the player in a possession based team.
The £30 million man is reportedly wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs and has recently changed agents in an attempt to facilitate a transfer away from East London.
Shame. Thought he had a bit of promise before Xmas. Mind you, everyone was playing better before Xmas
Seems there is way too many players throwing their toys out the pram , it appears their egos wage demands and so called price tags evaluations far exceed their abilities and so called skills. Get rid of the car kicker and half the team who fail to turn up with their lack of skills on match days . They surely won’t be missed as the players who do want to play have to play against 17 or more every match . Westham way it’s a disgrace
Provided we get close to our money back, let him go ….i think if we reinvest we can get a better player for the same money.
Who knows if there is a decent bid and we factor in amortisation to date, we might even make a profit
Looks like only the Greek fella will remain from our current central defence. Surely Zouma can’t stay major Tom was steadier on his feet than Kurt.
Maybe we have some youngsters who could step up. It would be good but I don’t have clue as nobody from the youth team with the exception of Ben Johnson and now George Earthy have ever been given a chance for the last 5 years…..
Oh I’m sorry I forgot to say perhaps aguerds a cat lover , can’t have that?
Good idea and let’s sell him and use the money to buy an aging slow coach with f??ked up knees , that’s the west ham way
