Emmanuel Adebayor’s West Ham medical – scheduled to take place this morning – has been delayed and won’t happen until Sunday at the earliest.
Claret and Hugh columnist EXWHUEmployee, broke the disappointing news last night – but confirmed the striker still looks on course to enjoy a season-long loan at the Boleyn.
Spurs have shifted their position on Adebayor. At the beginning of the year, they wanted West Ham to foot his entire £100,000 wage bill.
But with just days to go before the summer transfer window slams shut, the north Londoners are now understood agreed to subsidise his wages.
It is understood that the striker was set to attend a medical at the Spire Roding Hospital this morning (Friday) ahead of the loan deal being signed, although ClaretandHugh was told a few minutes ago that as not now the case.
No details of why the arrangement has been put on hold have been given – but it’s now scheduled to go ahead on Sunday.
A previous deal involving the player collapsed when he appeared to be on the move to Aston Villa. Adebayor’s eagerness to stay in London scuppered that deal though.
A Hammers source told us a few minutes ago: “A deal may be on the for the player and there were plans for a morning medical today.
“However, because of unforseen circumstances that has now been cancelled and it will hopefully go ahead on Sunday.”
Adebayor-why are you all moaning. He will be great against all his ex clubs-once! Just a shame we didn’t get him before the Arsenal game..

I wouldn’t trust the snake Levi, he would happily string us along till the last second and drop us in the brown stuff when it’s to late for us to do another deal,it’s not like he cares about keeping the wages on the books cuz he ain’t paying them is he Joe Lewis pays the bills. What a waste of money and time. Don’t go ahead with this signing or the signing of this Italian fellow, according to my sources he has no chance of being a success at West Ham, fringe player at best. This is typical West Ham – the dog on the street knew weeks ago we needed a striker with pace and a top winger. If these are not top players do not buy them. My advice stay away from both these signings in particular the Italian. We need a player like Moses – cop on Bilic and Henry get you ffing act together.

Most players we are/ were interested in is pure media driven crap.Reality is very different.Must say though this is very underwhelming as an option,as is the old shirehorse from italy.If we are looking for young winger attacking players then Leicester have seemingly activated Demari Grays release clause from Brum,4.5m,we should be looking at someone like him.But this is the penny pinching Davids.All a bit of a sad joke really im sad to say.
Pretty obvious,we are only going to take one on loan,now Sakho is available we are in no hurry,if Matri signs today or tomorrow,the Daves will mug Levy off and pull out of the deal,
If Matri does the Italian shuffle and pulls out a the last minute we will go for Ade,
