West Ham’s long-running pursuit of Adama Traoré has taken another twist, with talkSPORT claiming the Fulham winger is now stalling on a January move to the London Stadium.
The 29-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Hammers earlier this month, and a verbal agreement was in place with Fulham as West Ham looked to add pace and power to our fight to escape relegation. For Nuno Espírito Santo, it appeared to be a straightforward reunion with a player he knows well from their time together at Wolves.
Deal Agreed – Then Doubts Creep In
According to talkSPORT, the move is now threatening to collapse after a late U-turn from Traoré, who is out of contract in the summer and may be weighing up alternative options. The winger is said to be dragging his heels, raising fresh doubts over whether the deal can be resurrected before the window closes.
That version of events, however, is confusingly in complete contrast when set alongside other information doing the rounds.
Conflicting Reports Cloud the Picture
It is worth noting that talkSPORT ran their story before West Ham’s 3-1 win over Sunderland today. Since then, Fabrizio Romano has reported the deal as being done.
When Claret & Hugh spoke to a trusted transfer source at the London Stadium prior to kick-off, we were told that Traoré would sign. Whether a genuine U-turn has occurred since then remains unclear.
As ever with West Ham transfers, the truth may lie somewhere in the middle. For now, the Adama Traoré saga rumbles on.
Please let it be a U-Turn. Would be a disasterous signing
Great result if true, a player that score on average less than 2 goals a season is not the level we need, lets hope it doesn’t rumble on and just finishes, he will be available on a free at the end of the season if Nuno really wants him still.
Who cares? No big deal if he declines us.
Traore is a clumsy bungler who can;t ever make a good cross . Westham need Cresswell or an equally good CB to stop the joke goals that Westham keep conceding .
I really don’t think we need Traore
He will not improve the team and his age is not what we want to build on
If he comes he only takes a place of a player which is doing well
Put the money towards Cresswell or a defender
Please
No to Traore
I can’t really see why we would want him
