Travel chaos for West Ham fans

Virgin_Pendolino_at_EustonWest Ham fans are facing a nightmare journey to Manchester today after Virgins trains out of London Euston to Manchester were cancelled because of emergency repair works.

Service is expected to resume this afternoon but that might be too late to make the 4 pm kick-off at Manchester City.

An announcement on Virgin trains website says:

“Disruption on Sunday morning: No Virgin Trains services in or out of London Euston will operate on Sunday morning due to repairs taking place to damaged overhead power lines. If you are able to put off travel until the afternoon or following morning, your ticket will be accepted or a full refund will be offered at point of purchase. Services are expected to resume in the afternoon but please check before you travel to ensure the line has reopened. We’re sorry for the disruption to your journey.”
