David Moyes has a small dilemma as he decides his starting line-up for the game against Saints at St Mary’s this afternoon (Sun).
With the Hammers on the back of successive wins courtesy of goals from Gianluca Scamacca and Mikey Antonio, who managed a strike apiece in the match against Fulham, he needs to decide which of the two will start today.
We are assuming of course that Mikey has recovered from a bout of flu and that no illness had befallen the 23-year-old front man at a time when the manager has revealed there have been some bugs around the dressing room
Mikey may get the shout given his impressive record against Saints. Having faced Southampton 16 times in his career, the forward has proven a constant threat for the Saints’ centre-backs, finding the net on four separate occasions and providing his team-mates with a further two assists.
Furthermore, he has also been in impressive form over his nine Premier League outings so far this season, scoring two goals, registering one assist and creating one big chance for his team-mates.
Just after seeing team and it is such a negative approach yet again by Moyes. We are short at the back so he puts in extra defenders because he does not trust certain players. Instead a positive coach would see his as an opportunity and pick the 11 best available players. I hope I an wrong but I believe his negativity has cost us the game. Terrible management by Moyes and he has learned nothing from previous games.
