Tuchel wary of Hammers threat

Thomas Tuchel admits he is wary of just how good the Hammers are.

The Irons have endured a difficult start to the season but got back to winning ways last weekend, beating Aston Villa 1-0, and then recorded an impressive draw with Spurs in the week.

The fixtures come thick and fast and Chelsea are the next in wait.

They, too, have been inconsistent to start the season; they have won two of their games this season, beating Everton and Leicester, but have lost two, to Leeds United and Southampton, while drawing with Spurs.

The Blues are currently three points ahead of the Irons but the Chelsea boss is well aware of how good West Ham can be, and has informed his players that they face a difficult encounter this weekend.

Speaking in his press conference, as per 90min, the German said: “West Ham looks very strong. They are a very physical team with a good team spirit. They know what they are. They have periods where they can create huge moments within minutes and they have moments where they dig in and defend deep and can hurt you on counter-attacks.”

After Chelsea, the Hammers face Romanian side FCSB in the Europa Conference League next week.
