The mainstream media seem to be enjoying something of a feeding frenzy over the West Ham and Tottenham relegation battle.
Of course you can’t blame them I suppose. Two London clubs with 60,000-capacity stadiums who have won European trophies recently is a story. I get it. But as can be seen with the pile-on on poor old Igor Tudor — I’m not sure anyone could do any better at Spurs — the mob are baying for blood.
A top transfer source who has worked in football for years told Claret & Hugh yesterday: “It’s true they [Tottenham] have sounded out Sean Dyche but he’s not interested.” Proof, if any were needed, that the North Londoners are viewed as something of a poisoned chalice.
Spurs facing huge weekend pressure
This weekend they face Liverpool and the word is that Tudor is finished at the club if they lose, which is highly likely. It’s just a shame that West Ham have one of our toughest Premier League fixtures against Manchester City because there is a genuine chance that we could dump Spurs in the relegation zone.
Such is the malcontent and concern at Tottenham right now that it’s hard to imagine they have the mental resolve and character to climb out.
We can and will dump Tottenham in the relegation zone.
We are the home team. We have home support. We have the advantage. We must make the most of this chance to climb.
