Twitter attack brings quick Irons response

|

David-GoldDavid Gold has been fencing off criticism of the club’s percieved attitude towards the Acadamey.

Fans on Twitter have been concerned that we are not making the most of what we have at youth and Development Squad level with one asking whether the academy still existed!

He asked: “Do West Ham still have an academy? It seems not anymore. If we do when are they going to give anyone the chance to break through.

And another declared angrily: “Spurs invested the Bale £££s in youth & training so are now reaping the rewards. We Paid Fat Sam to annihilate ours.”

Gold, however, quickly responded by pointing to the bench for the game against Tottenham declaring: “16 year old Reece Oxford from our academy was on the bench against Tottenham yesterday. dg”

Well you could start by playing Oxford and sending the fake full back home to the gooners,
You could bring Burke back from winning games and put him in our suffering defence,
You could use Poyet or Callum in our under performing midfield before Kouyate gets to tied and picks up an injury,
Samulsun could stand and watch the game and not get involved just like Moses for just a small amount of wages,
Oxford was only on the bench because Valencia and Payet were out,
We had a perfect chance on Saturday to give Antonio a game 2 down system had failed
Yet we carried on in the same vain,
If you want to play Lanzini in the Payet role you give him the ball and some players to feed
Not Moses on the wrong wing not Sakho out wide with no where to go and Carroll has no movement or speed to slip through for a run on goal,
It’s not rocket science it’s simple football sense

Oh come on, we have one of the strongest squads I have known in my lifetime, we have a Champions league finalist on our bench, an Ex Barcelona player on the bench, an Ex Lazio and Inter player on the bench, a 16 year old wonder kid on the bench the best player in the championship last year on the bench Obiang still to come back and we are 6th in the league? Yes it was a bad day at the office and I am the first to want to push youth forward but please please tell me where and who will go into that squad from the development squad and push out a starter or even a bench warmer? If we put in the youth at this stage and slide down the league everyone would be going mad so please lets have a little perspective here. They had a run out in the Europa and did well, they would have got more game time in the League cup had we not gone out so lets take a step back and look at what we are doing and what have achieved especially with the Dev Squad. We have taken the Arsenal youth Captain, A Chelsea player who by all accounts is fantastic and Samuelson from City who I think is exceptional so we are in a fantastic position to move forward and I think we need to get behind what is happening and stop the stupidity.
