Our goal scoring hero Pablo Fornals has been discussing the West Ham season and David Moyes’ selection decisions.
Discussing his own role with the Newham Recorder there are typically no complaints about the way he has been treated.
He has now scored a couple of quite fabulous goals – the first a scorpion strike at Bournemouth when arriving as a sub and the second of course on Thursday evening.
The first of them was the most memorable for its brilliance, the second because of its importance in a fabulous result.
He is a great human being who has made it clear on many occasions that he has the Hammers in his heart big time and we hope he is included tomorrow against Leeds. He deserves to start
He said: “Mentally, this season has been a challenge for everyone. Everyone has been waiting for their moment. The the manager has picked playershe thinks are in the best form and shape for the team. The rest of us have just had to wait for our chances.”
“Those players who are playing more regularly have been doing really well,” added the six-times capped Spaniard.
He added: “They’ve settled into a recognisable starting eleven so the people like us, who are behind them, are just trying to get our minutes when we can. But I’m really happy to help the team with good goals, good minutes and good defending
“When the referee whistled for the end of the match on Thursday I just threw myself onto the floor and started crying like a kid. I seem to be crying a lot this year but I’m really happy for the club.
“It’s been a long time since it has been in this situation and I’m so pleased for our fans, too.
“I’d like to thank all the people who came over here to Holland and know already they will be with us for the final in Prague too because that’s what West Ham supporters do. They’re always behind us. They are massive everywhere they go!
“It’s a beautiful moment for fans who are back home in east London. It’s good for Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal that we’re going to be playing the final at their home in the Czech Republic.
This guy is the tops. A real Hammer who may well be at this club a very long time.
