Potts reveals U21s stars have real chances
Steve Potts was one of my favourite Hammers and proved himself truly committed to this great club so when he says as head coach of the under 21s great are coming through I believe him. Right now the under 21s are on a huge roll and for the past two months of so things have been absolutely perfect. The stats say it all: fourteen goals, four clean sheets and, most importantly, four wins. They deserve their current break and will return to action at the end of the month
Potts reveals U21s stars have real chances
Potts is clearly excited by the squad’s amazing season and the commitment which has got them there after qualifying for the knockout stages of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. He claimed the first game was the key explaining that Bristol Rovers away was a tough game but that as soon as they had come through it he had started to believe and that was justified by two more wins!
And he added: “The boys give a lot in training each day. We give them a little bit of structure in terms of how we want to play but ultimately it is down to them it terms of what they put in. That’s the thing that has got to me, how hard this group works to get the performances and the results.
It is just a case of trying to keep pushing the players to improve and get to where they want to get to. They want to be professional footballers. And that is not easy nowadays. They have got to keep coming in each day and working at their game, trying to get better and better. But so far that is what they have done this season.
People ask me questions. Who’s the one? Who’s the next one that’s going to make it? But, honestly, it’s a hard answer to give and a player to pick because there are a number of them who have got real chances!”
We all love and admire Pottsy and his latest work with our young stars, carrying on our great traditions. The question we all have is what will Moyes do with this treasure chest? Or his successor!!!
