There remains a determination – not only at Premier League level but from Uefa – to finish the season one way or another.

Although UEFA club competitions have been postponed until further notice, reports in Spain via AS confirm  the position of the top five leagues is to press on whenever they can.

The Spanish media source claims the Premier League and La Liga are ready to go beyond the summer to end the current campaign which has been the subject of many different plans by the PL and its chairmen.

A UEFA meeting today saw 55 members discussing the issues, with most leagues having between nine and 13 games still to play alongside several rounds of cup competitions remaining, both domestically and in the Champions League and Europa League.

Word is that a mini pre-season would take place were clubs to be ready to start the season at some point in mid or late summer.
