Unbelievable Carroll story in truest sense of the word

It’s not often you roar with laughter seconds after opening your eyes but the very idea that Andy Carroll could remain at the club  – according to The Sun of course – produced a tremendous guffaw which could probably be held next door.

It was  immediately denied by a top level CandH source inside the club by e-mail and confirmed by another over the last few minutes  – an unbelievable story in the truest sense of the word.

No club in their right mind would offer a contract of any kind to Carroll unless he was ready to take say a couple of grand a week.

And the idea that Manuel Pellegrini can see a place for him in his plans after his dreadful efforts this season is so ludicrous it’s barely worth thinking about.

The bloke has shown on the one or two occasions he has appeared that he simply doesn’t have the necessary giftings to fit the Pelle plan and with his injury record there is absolutely no chance of any sort of deal.

There will of course be rumours should -as is possible – he remains training with the club as an out of contract player in pre-season whilst he awaits some sort of deal elsewhere.

But the Carroll days are over.

  1. Yes, West Ham and Andy Carroll need to go their separate ways but I’m surprised by the tone of this article. As a West Ham player he has given us some good moments over the last 5 years, albeit sadly they have been few and far between. Let’s just move on and wish “the bloke” good luck wherever he goes.
