If we thought it was just West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui under pressure, think again. As the Hammers gear up to face Everton in a Premier League crunch clash on Saturday, Toffees boss Sean Dyche has come under heavy criticism.
Whether we’re about to enter another unofficial “El Sackio” remains uncertain, but Dyche was on the receiving end of a tongue-lashing from former Everton defender Michael Ball (no, not that one).
The former Rangers and Man City defender is unimpressed that Dyche has omitted defender Jarrad Branthwaite from the starting line-up. Branthwaite, who had an excellent season last campaign, came close to a mega-money move to Manchester United.
Ball said, “You can’t keep a player who you value at over £70 million among the substitutes when you’re not winning games. Everton can’t afford to pick and choose matches and let them pass us by.
“There are huge question marks over Sean Dyche now. He’s getting paid massive money to win football games, and he’s not winning enough of them.
“He’s got Jarrad Branthwaite, the best defender at the club, sat on the bench for most of the game. He’s leaving himself open for criticism and asking for trouble with the fans if he doesn’t win games.”
And there you have it—it’s evidently not just West Ham managers who come under fire from former players. Saturday’s game is shaping up to be a significant fixture for both parties.
West Ham play Everton ay 3pm on Saturday at The London Stadium.
Sean Dyche is no concern of ours…🤔 unless we draw with Everton, both gaffers are sacked, and in a bleedingly obvious and heart-breaking move…Sullu signs dead Dyche 😬🥺
Braithwaite will probably start this game and be man of the match😬
El Sackiko Vol. 2. Will the team need to throw the match if Everton can’t win it without our help? Horrible thought but then so is the prospect of Lopetegui staying.
Big difference. Whilst I’d love to see Everton relegated, I do feel Dyche is working with one hand tied behind his back in terms of finances. Our guy has the budget he craved, but has yet to deliver in terms of results or performances!
What’s the odds on a double ‘El Sackio’ ?
Lopetegui looks to be only a matter of time, so earlier is better than later.
